OK. Just got back from Trick or Treat with my cat. It's her favorite holiday, but this year she was disappointed because she received exactly zero catnip treats.
Anyway, I thought I should make sure the gathering of friends was open for business so, here goes...

Happy November. It's an election year and tempers run high, so take some time to chill out, have a drink, smoke it if you can and take a load off. No politics (You thought SRO was tough...). Grab a snack while we roast the turkey, make the stuffing and cranberry sauce and throw a few pies in the oven.
Please take time to remember the victims of Hurricane Sandy. As I type this, 5 million are still in the dark and temperatures around the region are dropping into the low 30s and 20s. The Red Cross needs your help. Please do not send donations of food or other supplies, they need cash and blood donations. Donations of goods (such as blankets and coats) will be requested as needed and they will set up specific drop off locations handled by coordinators. All donations of goods unless specifically requested cause more trouble than they are worth as they need to take needed relief workers away from their primary task.
For blood donation centers in your area, check the Red Cross website and make an appointment. They will be needing as much as possible. Make a party of it and drag 5 of your closest friends to the nearest center.

Have a great and Happy Thanksgiving.
Remembering those 'Viners who are MIA. Please post a note of support for all of those you know who are in the affected areas so we may all keep them in our thoughts or prayers.
And, remember our Veterans. They have sacrificed more than most people will ever understand. You, the veterans of the US Military, will never know just how much you are truly appreciated. Thank you.
